FOUNDER HIGHLIGHT: MYRON LONG
Myron Long is a native Washingtonian, a graduate of DC Public Schools, and a veteran DC teacher and principal, most recently at the E.L. Haynes Public Charter School. Myron launched Social Justice School, a diverse-by-design middle school blending rigorous academics with civic action. His model combines intentional school-wide racial integration in concert with external community activism focused on justice, poverty, and human rights. At every stage of his career, Myron has brought a commitment to social justice into his educational practice.
Myron was a CityBridge Resident in 2019.
The Social Justice School’s mission is to catalyze an integrated and diverse community of learners to be scholar-activists who are designers of a more just world. Social Justice blends rigorous academic instruction with learning expeditions that are rooted in social justice and liberatory design thinking.
